Abstract

Cánula Nasal Alto-Flujo (CNAF): Puesta al día

The high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) is a non-invasive respiratory support designed to deliver flows between 30–60 L/min. Its attractive potential was based on its comfort and greater adherence to treatment. Different recent studies showed results where HFNC is not inferior to treatment with NIV (non invasive ventilation). In addition, it has been used in a whole range of clinical scenarios with ARF (acute respiratory failure), such as: CPE (Cardiogenic Pulmonary Edema), COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), Cardiovascular surgery, thorax surgery, abdomen surgery, lung transplants and patients with do not intubate order (DNI). Likewise, in procedures such as preoxygenation before intubation and bronchoscopy.
